Writer Father

Logic.

Math is the best example of logic. It uses definite formulas and constant values.

My school is forty-eight kilometres away from our house. But you use miles. So you divide it by 1.609 and find out that forty-eight kilometres is almost thirty miles. It is always 1.609 if you compare mile and kilometer. Just like with a circle which is always 360 degrees no matter how small or how big it is.

So let’s do a simple math problem. Divide five to five thousand. Logic says that the answer is 0.001. But there was one instance when the answer to that was 5000 plus the number of women and children present plus twelve basketfuls leftover.

Illogical?

Only if you don’t believe that Jesus did feed five thousand men and uncounted number of women and children, with five loaves of bread and a couple of fish. The Bible says that after all those people ate and were satisfied, the disciples picked up the leftover broken pieces and gathered twelve basketfuls.

As a child, I read the Bible for the stories. I would open the Bible to Genesis and be amazed at the thought that animals could be created with just a few words. And then I’d skip the part when God punished Adam, Eve and the snake—too depressing for a five-year-old.

I’d read on and read about Noah. When I got better with my math, I counted a hundred years span between the time when God said to Noah that He’d clean the earth and the time when He shut the ark’s door. Talking about long-suffering.

In Genesis chapter 11, I found out why all these other languages exist. So now, I have to learn English just so you can understand me. Pride is a very bad thing. We must be very careful lest God confuse the places of our body parts and turn our noses upside down. We’d be forever blinking because of the air coming out our nose holes.

Talking donkey, the familiar spirit of a prophet showing itself to an Endor witch and a king, a prophet taken up to heaven by a chariot of fire, dead man coming back to life because he was thrown into a cave that kept the bones of a prophet, a man inside a big fish’s stomach for three days and three nights, common people speaking other languages without learning them in school—the Bible is full of extraordinary stories.

Psalm 139:16 (KJV) Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

God has a book and He wrote you in it.

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

May we all walk after our writer Father’s path while being taught, rebuked, corrected and trained in righteousness in developing and honing our writing skill.

God is the greatest writer of all time. Because of His words, lives are changed.

Beautiful post, Carrizz!!! Great job!

Only difference is, his is true while ours is largely made up - on the surface, at least. I would like to think that the truths we write in our fantasy are the same as the truths in his history. Good post!

awesome, Carizz! (did I spell it right?) As writers, we imitate our father, in creating shadows that hopefully reflect His Truth....

And let us never forget we still serve a wonder-working god! Miracles are happening every day in impoverished "third world" countries, that Americans in our "affluence" have not seen in decades, largely because we as a whole put our trust in everything but what our coins claim we do.

My father is a full-time missionary pastor. And as that's the case, he doesn't receive regular income.

But God is our portion.

There was once a time when we didn't have food in the house. After we prayed and praised God for His love, my Dad opened the door. A cat clutching a plastic bag with its teeth slugged forward and left the plastic bag to our doorstep. My dad looked inside the bag and a fat fish lied fresh and dead at the bottom of it.

Elijah was fed by vultures. But we were fed by a cat. :D

It's true Andrea, our God is a miracle-working God! And yes, thanks for spelling my name correctly. :D

Grace, may His truth shines through our fiction. As paradoxical as that may sound.

Tita Chris, thanks for commenting.

Adam's dad once was broke and didn't have money for food and he prayed and someone came by with a sack of groceries and said the Lord told them to bring it. His Dad praised the Lord, but when he looked through the sack, there wasn't any milk for the baby (not adam), so he prayed again, "Lord, you forgot the milk!"

The person came back and gave him money, saying, "In case you need milk for the baby or something."

So it is still possible here in America....

It is possible anywhere Andrea... to those who have faith. :D

The Bible was written by man, not G-d.

Hehe. Of course Tito Frank, the Bible wasn't written by God, but it is still inspired by Him nonetheless :D

The bible is the very Word of God no matter what an atheistic Jew who doesn't have the courage to identify him or herself wants to believe.

That wasn't me. There are several "logical" positions from which one can consider Scripture. It seems our anonymous friend takes issue with the inspired view.

Anonymous,

Thank you for presenting your opinion.

Ooops. Sorry. My mistake. I really thought it was you, Tito Frank. It made me laugh so I thought it was you. :D

Well anyway, my friend Anonymous here is right. God didn't write the Bible. However, God did inspire those people who wrote the books in the Bible.

I was tempted to say the Bible was the words of God Himself but I don't want to get caught up in another legality by quoting to me the words of Satan in the book of Job or Matthew or wherever else you find his words. Hehe.

So yes, I stand on the ground that the Bible is inspired by God. And yes, it is life changing.

And also, please don't think bad about the Jews. A person can be atheistic whatever their nationality is.

I'm sorry but I just have to say that.

Carizz, I don't think bad about Jews. We have much in common despite our disagreements doctrinally. Anon's Jewishness has nothing to do with trolling, but merely made obvious by their spelling God as G-d. I was just pointing out the person who wrote that wasn't a Christian for anyone who hasn't realized we're in public now and the devil will send trolls to persecute us.

If you think I'm over the top, Adam and I were once cyber-fed to the lions and I am not making that up. I was nothing but nice and loving and kind towards these people (it took supernatural help!) That got us downgraded to a kitten feed.

Here, I just got mad, cause I felt like this person was picking on a sweet young lady who provokes protective feelings in me for some reason. Frankly, I'm the least happy of all with that side of my personality and it does take loving brethern to help me hold it in check.

And btw, inspired means God actually did write the bible, albeit through human intermediaries. All scripture is god-breathed. The words the authors wrote came directly from the throne of God. Isn't it interesting that God chose the story format--albeit a true story--rather than just having everyone write treastes like the Apostle Paul?

quoting the words of satan--
Next time one of those smartalecks tries that one on you, Carizz, if you can't simply ignore them and walk away (I sure need to learn how to do that!), just respond back:
What's the problem with God quoting His enemy in the course of writing His book? God quotes lots of people, not all of them very nice people, that doesn't make His book any less inspired. That His book is brutally honest about the hero's failings even when the hero's name is on the cover, so to speak, shows just how inspired it is!
