Books you need to check out

Recently a number of new releases have caught my attention - will they catch yours?

Amy Deardon's "A Lever Long Enough"
A small military team travels back in time to film the theft of Jesus' body from the tomb . . .

The Israeli team, led by Benjamin Finan, has exactly seventy-two hours to collect the data. Failure threatens the existence of Israel and may cause the world to slip into all-out war.

Drawn into a web of first century deception and death, the only way to escape is for Benjamin to change the past.

In the present, a traitor determines to sabotage the mission and seize control of the complex housing the time machine. Only Benjamin can reveal him, but he is trapped two thousand years away. Even with a time machine, time is running out.

Never Ceese, the highly acclaimed debut novel by Sue Dent, is now available from The Writers' Café Press. This is a limited edition re-release. You can read some amazing reviews of it here.

And "The Exception" by Jessica Thomas, which is not published yet - but you can read some excerpts of it here. This looks to be a spine-chilling end-times thriller.

Read the excerpts (first three chapters) of The Exception.

Not sure why you called it an "End Times Thriller" unless that's just a way to get a Christianese handle on it. The three-chapter excerpt struck me as a good SF intro, futuristic but not too futuristic, with a strong aroma of cyberpunk yet without the usual cyberpunk shticks.

65000 words is a bit short for a novel these days, but fits right in with Golden Age SF novels of the Sixties and Seventies that you could read through in one sitting.

thanks for spotlighting books on here. I never heard of The Exception, but now I am curious about it as well. Add to the list to check out. I am hoping to get a copy of A Lever Long Enough soon. Lots of good buzz about it.

Regarding the re-release of Never Ceese . . .

I apologize that the information presented here is misleading.

TWCP is planning a re-release BUT TWCP has not decided upon a date for the re-release. It will not be March 3, 2009, but it will be sometime before the end of 2009.

FYI: In the future, any books and release dates are official ONLY if the information comes directly from TWCP.

Again, I sincerely apologize for the misinformation.

I need to add this:

I in no way hold the owner and author of this blog (Lost Genre Guild and the hardworking Grace Bridges) for reporting the misinformation about Never Ceese.

I don't know the source of the "news clip" but rest assured it did not come from TWCP.
